Everything was Wonderful

Its was Great!!! Clean, Relaxing and Close to the water.. We were on our Honeymoon and had a great time..The free Gas cards came in handy, yes the place is a bit further out but it was worth it. If your trying to relax the drive is worth it.

Best experience I have had in a hotel in many, many years.

I picked this hotel based solely on the awesome reviews I had read. It exceeded my expectations. I traveled with my 2 daughters, 5 and 4, for their first trip to the beach. It was important to me that we have close and easy access to the beach. We stayed for 3 nights and we loved everything about this hotel. The room was spacious and clean. We had a great view of the beach and the convenience of a kitchen in the room and washer/dryer availability just outside of our door made this trip all the better. The staff was fantastic from the moment we checked in. The beach was clean and we didn't have to walk far to get to it. One of the nights we were in town it was rainy so we took advantage of the activity center and played air hockey and board games, what a great addition to an already wonderful hotel. The pool was beautiful and the kids enjoyed their time there daily. Since we had the kitchen we didn't really need to go out to eat much but on the one night we did venture toward the restaurants I found it to be a quick and easy drive to the "main" part of town. Everyone we encountered from staff to other guests were so sweet and welcoming, especially to my two very excited daughters. Thank you for making this such a memorable family vacation for us. We will be back and we would not even consider staying somewhere else!!!

Excellent Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is great (not too far away from the action but not too secluded), the beach is clean and not crowded with direct beach access being a huge plus! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very nice, spacious, clean, and comfortable with a great balcony and beautiful view of the coast line and Galveston Island! We will definitely being coming back.

Great place for families!

We had a great experience overall. Loved the location, staff was attentive and helpful, beds were very comfy, and the pool was awesome!

October Wedding

What a pleasant surprise greeted us as four families gathered from all around the country for the wedding. The location on the beach was perfect. The infinity pool overlooking the grand gulf was spectacular. Our room was spacious, clean, well appointed and comfortable while the full kitchen was ready for everything we needed. Every interaction with staff was terrific, all asking how we were doing. I highly recommend this property and would gladly return. Thanks for a wonderful weekending vacation!

Wll not stay there again

First, we were told to enjoy the pool and hot tub when we arrived and they knew then that the pool and tub were closed. Someone had thrown a bottle from an upper floor and broke it in the pool and the area around it so they had to drain the pool & hot tub and refill it which took all three day that we were there so we never got to use either. We couldn't even use the wood walk way to get to the beach because it goes through the pool area. We had to walk through the underground garage and then through tall grass on a small trail to get to the beach which was not lighted after dark. We were there for our anniversary so we would have found somewhere else to stay if we had know. The desk clerk should have informed us as soon as we got there. There is only one ice machine on the far west end of the first floor which is very inconvenient especially if your on the third floor. They clean the room once before you arrive and want do it again unless you want to pay them extra to. You get the one set of towel unless you want to pay for more. There are not enough handy cap parks. The rooms are a lot smaller than they appear in the pictures and need repairs. The carpet was frayed in places and our room door would not close tight enough to lock unless you pulled it shut hard. The elevators can be used from any floor, including the ground floor, without any key so anyone can get to any floor any time, day or night, with out any trouble at all. It's not very secure at all. They claim to have security at night after the office closes but we never saw anyone and we went to and returned from the beach one night around 10pm.. I had a flash light and a stun gun so I felt fairly secure but I would not have let my wife gone down to the car or ice machine alone, must less the beach. They also do not furnish any type of breakfast except for what they sell in their restaurant. The WIFI did not work very well in our room. All in all, we have stayed in hotels closer to town with free breakfast, room service everyday if you wanted, towels anytime you needed more, keyed elevators and rooms about the same size and condition for less than half the price. Being on the same side as the beach was not worth what we went through and paid. We would not recommend anyone staying here at all.

Surreal..

Wonderful stay, beautiful view, friendly staff, clean.. . There was a lot of construction going on but that just means improvements. so No complaints from me.

ok , nice stay, disappointed with up keep and response to issues

elevators... when you check in.... they are the first thing you see,because you go up a floor to guest services to check in, elevators were dirty ,floors and rugs, walls, it was our 20th anniversary , staff put a boottle of wine in our room which was great, but the eve we got there, someone decided to break a bottle or glass causing the hot tub and pool to be taped off with caution tape and since our stay was from sunday to wed , when we checked out on wed we never got to swim in the pool or get in the hot tub and no discount was offered to us for those items not availible to us, reaction time to the hot tub and pool was very poor, at first they were draining the pool with a common water hose you would use at home , then tue eve the light bulb come on over somebodies head and they used a pump, but still used a common water hose to fill a large pool, like filling a baby pool with a straw, prices are very high like 2.25 for a bottle of reg water, 5dollars for one beer little high

Very clean room and great atmosphere

My husband and I came to Galveston to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We wanted to try something different and we were pleasantly surprised. The room was great and we had a nice big balcony. It was probably the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. I just wish I'd had a beach chair. We've already booked another stay at this location in April when we visit Galveston to compete in Ironman Galveston.

Somewhat disappointed

Rate 3 stars overall experience due to our particular experience. The location of the resort on the beach is good, except it does not have a restaurant and you have to drive miles to get to most restaurants and attractions. The front desk staff and maintenance people were VERY nice and helpful. The rooms were clean. We have a special needs child who can't go into ocean water, so I was unhappy the way they disclosed that the pool was closed after check-in, when they gave me the key. I had paid one night in advance, but it was not until we had totally unloaded the car and got everything in the room that the manager called our room and offered to let us out of our contract. Overall, It did not seem like a 'resort'. Our room had a very slim view of the ocean from the side. I was told that all the rooms that face the ocean are two bedrooms units not available to book. We will be making more trips to Galveston for medical services and we will probably choose a different hotel.
