Orange Lake

We love Orange Lake Resort and have been visiting for over 20 years. We always stay in the North Village and really like the area. The condos could use some updates with the furniture and the TV’s. I put towels on the couches because they looked dirty and worn. Smart TV’s would be a nice upgrade too! We like to relax at night and were unable to access any of the networks we like. The other recommendation we have is the staff at the front desk and other service areas to have training in customer service. So unfriendly and not at all helpful with any questions. A smile and welcome would go a long way. The bar staff at the pools were awesome, friendly and eager to serve well. There is a big contrast in customer service. We will look forward to returning!

Room Cleanliness

Room cleanliness doesnt just mean dusting and wiping top surfaces. The unit we were assigned had a lot of debris and dead bug carcasses in the tracks of both bedroom and livingroom sliders. Mold was visible in and around jets and exterior crevices of master bath tub. Was told that this was a newly finished unit. Looks like they slathered paint over the dirt. And the "new" granite counter was already cracked. Poor quality.

Fantastic stay

This was an amazing experience for my whole family we had all of the fun and we didnt leave the resort. It had something for everyone. The staff, room, and amenities were all above and beyond my expectations! I can't wait to go back and get to do the things we didnt get to do this past stay.

Orange Lake Resort Vacation Club

This was a fantastic family vacation. The weather was great. Sunny and around 80 degrees. The swimming pools were great. The hotel room was great. The property was so nice. Employees were so nice. Just OK.

When I checked in to the resort the desk clerk said that they gave me an "upgrade" to a 2-bedroom suite/casita. I booked a nice room in one of the towers. The suite was fairly clean but quite a bit run down. There was no daily cleaning service for this room, and there was only one day worth of coffee. For the money I paid for this resort this was not worth it. I was on a business trip and did not use the fun stuff. The H.I Express hotels are nicer. Not even a continental style breakfast.

Wonderful experience.

Blew away my expectations for a family vacation. My expectations were really low because Iv been fooled by pretty hotel photos before. I will say I’m not the experienced traveler that has a ton of experience with extravagant vacations. So, someone else's experience might be different from mine. I combed through the reviews and found an alarming mixture of praise and some that wrote a stern warning to stay somewhere else. For my family’s recent trip to Disney, I decided to roll the dice on this property. Our last trip to Disney, several years ago, we decided to stay at the Coronado springs Disney resort and it wasn’t a great experience, wasn’t bad either, I just wasn’t wowed for the money. Although, the park hopper bus was really nice so you don’t have to find a place to park. Because I like to vacation with family, we usually stay at an AB&B so typically a hotel won’t do. However, the Holiday Inn At Orange Lake Resort property was like a private gated AB&B community. Apparently it is a timeshare property, I had a long friendly pitch at check in to sit through the presentation. Obviously timeshares have a bad connotation associated with that label so I wasn’t really interested and at the same time I didn’t have time to fit in a presentation when this trip was planned. Our room was spacious with 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, open concept, walk out patio, washer and dryer. There is a small market almost like general store you can pick up some essentials so you don’t need to find a grocery store. Would be nice if it was open 24hour or at least to midnight. Since, we already had our itinerary planned out from getting to the parks early and shutting them down every night with the firework shows, dinner reservations in the parks, Halloween night parades. We didn’t have any free time to really explore the Holiday Inn property, though after looking around in person I wish I had booked a day or 2 more to actually relax at the resort. The golf course on property had me wishing I had brought clubs. We got checked in later in the evening due to a 9 hour drive, and this property has 8 or 9 restaurants to choose. We decided to checkout the pizzeria which was in a huge pool courtyard area with splash pad for the kids a beautiful pool. I have been disappointed before after looking at hotel’s professional photos that supposedly show how great the room or pools are. Then you get there and it’s dirty, smells, humid sticky in the room, pool is small and chairs are falling apart and the pool is normally packed with people because it’s the only amenities the hotel offers. Which are other reasons why I vacation in AB&B’s. Not my experience at this Orange Lake location. My room seemed to be recently updated. The bad reviews I saw people spoke about the room being overly outdated and the cleaning was not up to par. I did see other villas gated off going through remodeling; hopefully soon everyone that vacations at this resort will have an updated room. I will say, we did buy a mop to clean the dirty floor. My 1yo son is in between walking and crawling, and we did not want him crawling around on the condition of the floor. The floor was updated to luxury vinyl flooring, so at least it’s not dirty carpet. There was an old vacuum cleaner in the closet which was confusing because there isn’t carpet. Since the villa’s are being updated the cleaning crew may need to be updated with some hard floor spray mop with reusable/washable pad to get the dirt that a vacuum cleaner can’t get because it doesn’t get close enough to the surface of the floor. I have been a loyal IHG club member for many years, there’s been times Iv thought about expanding my options to other hotel chains because I haven’t been thrilled due to cleanliness, and Iv had rooms reserved in advance and when I show up I’m told the rooms were overbooked and my room was given to someone else with no means to makeup for it. This was the first stay stay at a Holiday Inn that impressed me. The next time I’m in the area I will definitely stay again.

Exceptional service and beautiful scenery

Our family enjoyed our stay at Orange Lake Resort. The staff was super friendly and there was plenty of things to do during our stay. Highly recommend!
