Disappointed

We booked this trip last summer with the intentions on staying here while visiting Disney World prior to going on our Disney Cruise. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort on Panama City Beach and have been very satisfied each year. The customer service, atmosphere, cleanliness, and positive upbeat vibe of the entire resort is amazing. We have gone there for so many years because of these reasons and have always recommende this resort to friends and family. We thought we would have the same experience at the Orange Lake Resort, but were very disappointed. When we checked in after driving 16 hours, we were immediately sent to get our parking pass where they tried to sell us a Timeshare. I told them no we were not interested and they then tried to increase the value of what they were trying to give me to attend a meeting. I was even called and contacted the next morning to attend the meeting and asked why I didn't want to attend. My response was simply because I'm on vacation with my family. We were orginally put in a room that smelled like smoke and they did move us upon request. The room we were in did not allow you to even use your cell phone. We tried to use Wifi and my husband's Ebay was hacked within an hour. I was also informed that they do not clean the rooms, which was a misunderstanding on my part. They were going to charge me $8 for towels. I was informed by managment that his was a different type of stay than what I have had before. I told them you are exactly right, it is because this is extrememly disappointing. The manager didn't charge me for the extra set of towels, but was not willing to even ask how he could make the experience any better. The pools were not very clean. The food was extremely expensive and was not worth the cost. It's a non-cash resort so unless you have a credit card, you can not buy anything, which was extremely frustrating at times because you had to use your credit card to buy a pop out of the machine. I think that it needs to be advertised that this is a different stay than regular Holiday Inn experiences. There is no compliementary water or coffee offered at this "resort.". Everything costs extra including a $9 tube rental fee to use on the lazy river. I have never had an experience like this at any Holiday Inn. If they spent as much time and energy on customer service and keeping the resort clean as they do trying to sell Timeshares than they might sell more Timeshares. Overall, we were disappointed and felt that we wasted a lot of money.

Bad trip

The hotel smelled like a nursing home. Neighbors were loud the whole trip and the front desk did nothing. The room wasn’t clean we for dirty underwear in the fold out couch. Had to pay for clean towels.

Great stay

Janielle, Hello and good day. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all of your help previously, upon arrival to Orange Lake Resort. Your guidance choosing the perfect location in the West Village was an excellent recommendation and most fitting accommodation for our two families. We loved it there! The check in process was simple and the staff was warm and welcoming. We fully enjoyed the pool area, restaurants and arcade. The only thing that put a small damper on our trip was the rainy weather, but that’s Florida weather for us. We will actually be taking a tour of the property and checking in again on July 27-30. We are excited! Again, thank you for the superb assistance you have provided in making our stay your number one priority.

Tony & Jewel LumYou accommodation for Peace family reunion 2018

My wife and I stayed for the weekend to attend a family reunion, we had a very good experience, all except for waiting for our room. Granted we arrived a little early, before 16:00 hours, and we were informed that the room was not ready, but it will be ready shortly. It was very HOT waiting for our room, so we checked for an eta, not very helpful response... My wife and I agreed, they could have maybe offered some bottled water or some customer service greeting. When we informed that the room was ready, we asked for a shuttle to get to the room and when we arrived at our room, the cleaning lady was still cleaning the room, no fault of hers, but the people at the front desk, clearly not communicating effectively. Other than this we thouroughly enjoyed our stay and will return to the hotel.

Disney vacation

We had an overall nice stay but I do wish they would have asked if we minded a second floor villa. Lugging the suit cases and groceries to the second floor was a pain. Also our safe was not working and it took three days to get it fixed which they actually replaced it. The pool attendant was rather nasty to my niece and took her noodle from her Bc you can't have your own floats on the lazy river, only hotel rented ones, which no one told us, upon check in. When we complained she gave the noodle back but no one ever contacted me regarding the matter like they said they would!

Great vacation!

This resort is “AMAZING “ from the room to the amenities. Everything was nice. Lots to do onsite.. We’ll definitely visit again..

Be wary

Decent stay last time when I took their deal to see the sales presentation a few years ago and stayed at the water park. This time was terrible. Bed and pillows were flat and uncomfortable. Shower and bath had more hair than I do. Drains didn’t work and knobs to sink didn’t work. Requested a pack and play as I was offered and never got it. Overall bad experience. I rented and was called multiple times and stopped while checking in being given their sales pitch. I paid I stay here and wasn’t part of their “cheap” stay program and still was badgered non stop.

Family vacation

Had a great time on our family vacation we look forward to visiting more sites and we look forward to coming back to this one

Everything was perfect! From check in to pool area!

Florida

Great stay. Clean and great pool. The food was excellent and so were the drinks. Nice landscaping and well taken care of.
