Would Never Return

All around HORRIBLE experience. Arrived (at 5 PM) and was told that pool that was supposed to be open until 9PM would close at 7PM due to inability to staff it. Within an hour there was a single lightning strike (at around 5:30PM) and they opted to just close down the pool for the night. Went to the room and it reeked of marijuana. We didn't feel like changing rooms so just asked for some Lysol. Was told that they couldn't give customers "chemicals" and would be there to take care of it; they never showed up. Went to the front desk to speak with the manager and one wasn't onsite (on a Saturday) and was told that they wouldn't be back until Monday. Asked that she call me, they never did. The property was run down and speaking to other guests, found out that they were closing down in a few months and were doing the bare minimum until then. Been a priority card member since 1990 (and at hundreds, if not thousands of locations) and this location is without a doubt is the worst location I have ever stayed at AND it's marketed as a "resort" location!

Great place

Tremendous property. The lake is beautiful, the pool is fabulous. The rooms and amazing and very nice.

Great Stay

First time at this location and it was affordable and a great experience

Stressful instead of peaceful

Noise complaints were made over normal activity of walking around in the room. Miserable time of telling the kids to walk softly and enforced early bedtimes. It was very stressful. This was our 3rd stay in 6 months but will be the last.

Ten out of Ten

This seems to be a hidden gem that for us was a fantastic family vacation. Driving in - beautiful. Peaceful lake, gorgeous view as we checked in. Very friendly, accommodating staff. Our two-bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen room was immaculate. The balcony hosted our family breakfasts and evening happy hours. The pool, tennis court, snack bar, activity center were all frequented by our family, and we were so grateful to have this reunion at such a lovely place. We also spent one evening at a beautiful winery 15 min's away. This place is awesome, and we truly hope we'll be able to meet here again.

Great place for families!

This place has something for everyone to enjoy! It has a very large lake to fish, paddle boat and/or kayak. Picnic tables are available with a pavilion for a large family gathering including a place to grill/barbecue. Mini golf course plus a 5 hole regular golf course. Tennis courts as well as basketball, a sand volleyball and horseshoe pits. A playground that overlooks the lake then finally a swimming pool. Some of the Villas have their own smokers/grills. The Activity Center has a pool table, ping pong table, arcade games along with a sauna and fitness room. There are DVD’s available for rent and snack bar. Overall, it’s truly a great place for families to enjoy!

Best idea, but didn't love

We really loved the idea of this place! So cute and big rooms. Lots of fun activities for the kids too- pool, golf... We were on a lower level villa, but a middle would be my request for next time. I spoke to the manager about our room issues and she is resolving them. She was kind and very helpful.

Fun for the fam

The pool was nice for the kids. Fishing, boating, mini golf for the littles was good too. Basketball goals were broken. They had pickleball/tennis also.

Awesome place to visit! This was our 4 th visit here.So much to do and really nice villas!

Nice place, needs a refresh though

The staff is nice and friendly, location is nice, no indoor pool for cool days, mini golf needs refresh remodel, Villas are bit outdated, TVs needs to be updated, our oven was in Power Fail mode, housekeeping didn't collect all the previous wash cloths and left the body wash empty, the toilet area is extremely tight, so maybe not so good for the more stalking or fluffy guests. Felt like you had to pay for everything. Probably won't come back at the room rate we paid, get a much better value at other resorts. The Holiday Inn Club and resort in Palentine, Texas is much better!!! It your supposed to be treated differently for being an IHG member, I couldn't tell the difference.
