Nice week's stay, did not know what to expect

Our large family had stayed at the Signature part of this facility before and did not understand that unless the room says SIGNATURE you will not be staying on the beach, but across the highway on the front desk side of the resort. Once I gathered this info, I tried calling ahead so I could plan for our large family better. I asked how far our room was from the beach, they didn't know. I asked if we had a bay view or ocean view, they didn't know. I asked how high up our room was (I'm scared of heights), they didn't know. This was very frustrating. BUT we were pleasantly surprised when we got there that even though we were in the very farthest building from the highway, our room was large and nice and clean and our balcony looked out to the bay which was beautiful and FULL of wildlife to watch. This would not have been the case for many of the other buildings on the property so, heads up if that is important to you. It was too far for us to walk to the beach with all our kids' stuff so we drove over every day and parked under the Signature building in the covered parking, that was nice and shady and convenient. We ran out of towels early on in our stay because of our many showers after returning from the beach and we called and asked for more to be brought out--they said they would be here right away and they never arrived before we left. The fire alarm went off multiple times during one night and we were never contacted from the hotel with any explanation--we just finally stopped going outside. We were on the top floor and the elevator locked us in one night so we stopped riding it--that made getting to our 3rd floor room a haul. Not terrible, just very inconvenient. Overall we love staying here and would go back-- I just want to make sure our constructive criticism keeps them striving for their best...and to make sure others ask the right questions about their rooms. I don't want the hotel to go downhill.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Spacious rooms and on site amenities.

We went for a family beach vacation. All 8 of us stayed comfortably in a 2 bedroom villa. The pullout couch had a thick comfy mattress.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Happy guest

Very happy with our stay. Highly recommend. Everything is very clean, there are many amenities that normal hotels do not ever carry. Two kings is the best choice.

Yes, I recommend this property.

When I go to a hotel room., I want it be clean and sanitary. It don’t make sense that I have to clean the tub before I use it. Get erase-able sponges to get tub clean. Pay some attention to baseboards. They were filthy. If I going to be away from home for awhile rooms should be clean. Cleaning staff aren’t doing their jobs.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Won't Stay Here Again

Checked in at 3:35 & front desk clerk made a snide comment that we were checking in early - if I had known what was about to happen we would have checked in at noon. - No elevators to 2nd floor 4 flights of stairs. After moving all our belongings up 4 flights of stairs in 95 degree heat - Air conditioner in first room didn't work - Moved to another room that was smaller up another 4 flights - no discount offered - No beach - unless you crossed a busy highway - Rooms were remodeled but still looked aged, broken window in the bedroom- Our first unit where the air conditioner didn't work had separate bathrooms for each bedroom, second unit we were put in had the bathroom in the bedroom - 15 plus miles from downtown Galveston (good from a crowd standpoint, bad if you want to eat) - Onsite snack bar was good, ate breakfast there - Floors were paper thin - kids in unit above us ran and jumped off furniture every night till midnight - finally had to call the desk the last two nights to get security to tell them to stop.

No, I do not recommend this property.

Not a Relaxing Stay

Horrible Stay unless you like Roaches Let me start my saying, I work in Resort Management and I know how difficult it can be but I've never experienced anything like I did with this place this past week. My family and I went to Galveston for a quick week getaway and wanted a quiet location rather than the crazy hustle of Seawall BLVD. Thinking it's a Holiday Inn and the property on the website looks great decided to book it. We showed up to check in at 4pm Tuesday, check in was easy but then I was told I needed to walk over to another desk to pick up my parking pass which I thought was strange but ok. As soon as I stepped 10 feet over the hard sell was on to sell me on a timeshare tour. I said NO more than 5 times a f the last kept talking until I finally yelled " give me my parking pass now". She finally gave it to me and I walked out. I rented on the newly renovated side so the "Signature Villa". At first entrance, it was very pretty. Upon further inspection, it was filthy, baseboards were black, shower doors were cloudy, the caulking in the showers was black and there were dead roaches in the corners of the kitchen floor. My daughter opened the kitchen drawer and saw a live roach. Knowing the business, I know if you see roaches during the day, at night will be way worse. Upon entering the bedroom, roaches on wall. Alive! I immediately called and said no way was I staying in a roach infested "Signature Villa". After a good 10 minutes on the phone of them telling me that roaches are normal on the beach they offered to move me to another Villa. I demanded to walk it first to make sure it was roach free since it was in the same building. Moments later I was walking the new unit and all appeared roachless. I looked under cabinets, under sinks and under the stove. It was very dusty and hadn't been touched up so to speak but at first glance it bug free. So we spent the next hour moving and cleaning the new unit. I requested the housekeeper come and clean the unit the next day as I found mounds of old food under the appliances and I know good and well that's a huge issue if you have roaches. No one came the next day to clean but did come to fix the Blu Ray which I never called in. The cafe that serves the food is Nextdoor to the unit that had the roaches and upon walking to the pool through the Seaside Cafe, there were roaches there as well. The next morning after cleaning ourselves we went back to old unit because we forgot a shoe and when my husband entered the smell of bug bombs about knocked him over and low and behold there were roaches scurrying. Needless to say, I was very happy to leave and very disappointed with it all. This morning upon check out I requested a call from the manager and it's been 12 hours and no call, no apologies, no offer of a discount or partial refund for the roach issue, or the moving rooms inconvenience or the dirty second room with no cleaning after it was requested. So if you want a roach filled "Signature Villa", a dirty room and a hard sales pitch then this is the place for you! For my family and I, we will never stay in a Holiday Inn again!

No, I do not recommend this property.

Girls Weekend

We all love this place! We live only an hour away but when we are here we feel like we are many miles away from home! We have had our girls trip two years in a row here and we will definitely will be back! We love the villa's and the pool is great!! My only complaint is that this year there were not enough lay out chairs at the pool. Other than that, everything was GREAT!

Yes, I recommend this property.
