Great service
The villa was perfect real clean and tidy and we got upgraded to an extra room which worked out great for us! The lazy river and pool was awesome. Hopefully get to try out the food next time since we ate out.

October Vacation
Good place to stay if looking to relax. Not worth attempting to be sold into buying into a timeshare. Great view of the property, with well-maintained grounds, but more attractions would help make the stay more welcomed.

You won't complain if you know before you go!
Having just returned from a 2 week stay (10/1 - 10/15/2018) at Orange Lake Resort (Building 82000 at River Island), I'd like to offer the following information to those planning to stay here in the future. 1. Know before you go. Regardless of who you book your accommodations with to stay here, do as much research on the property as possible, beforehand! Read as many Guest Reviews as possible from the many sites that have them, look at the vast number of videos about the resort/different room types/ etc. on YouTube, and, by all means, telephone the resort directly if you have any questions. We learned beforehand that Building 81000 at River Island was undergoing 'renovations" during our stay and that their parking area would be affected, so we asked for and got a 2 bedroom Villa, poolside in Building 82000. Parking close to the entrance was still difficult to obtain, even though I have a Handicapped placard. There are just too few Handicapped spaces, and I would imagine that the 'staff/resort personnel' parking area won't be relinquished or displaced to accommodate more Handicapped spaces (at least not as long as the Time Share people and their golf carts continue to 'need' them!) 2, Learn the "System." Having stayed here several times in the past I learned all of the resort's "tricks" that appear to generate the most complaints of those who haven't, such as Orange Lake being a 'cashless' resort ( just keep ALL of your receipts so there are no 'surprises' when checking out, AND, make sure you get receipts when checking in for the resort fee and 'deposit') ... having to pay $9. per day, per person, to 'rent' tubes for the Lazy River at River Island (buy them as you actually use them. Don't get the 'package' and find out that you can't use them because everything gets closed when thunderstorms happen) ... receiving over-the-top high pressure from the Time Share people when trying to obtain your "Parking Pass", and them calling you in your Villa for several days afterwards (do NOT engage them in extended conversations when they offer 'freebies', JUST CONTINUE TO REPEAT THE WORDS, "NO THANK YOU!" and un-plug your phone in your Villa so you don't get any early morning calls)... the 'quality' of the food at the River Island Grilling Company breakfast buffet (they are open from 7 am to 11 am and the food is well-prepared and hot when it is placed into the buffet area at, or shortly after, 7 am. Many people expect that food to stay that way even though many of the guests using it before them don't always re-cover the pans the food is in properly, or they show up after 10 am and expect everything to be hot or recently replenished) ... having to wait for the site shuttles to get around the resort (the resort is HUGE! Yes, you will be waiting unless you have your own vehicle, and even then it takes time to get from Point A to Point B with numerous stop signs, 'speed bumps' AND, at 23 mph! ... "Our Villa was dirty, this or that didn't work, they didn't change the sheets or towels, etc.." (ours was VERY clean and EVERYTHING worked, and because we stayed for over 10 days, we got fresh linens and re-cleaning! If you find something wrong, CALL HOUSEKEEPING, IMMEDIATELY, especially on the weekends when most of the check-ins occur. Use the washer/dryers, vacuum cleaners and broom/dust pans if you need to. Remember, that PEOPLE are performing the housekeeping, cleaning, etc. and like all of us, sometimes they miss things, they might be having a 'bad day', or are getting pulled out of one Villa to address a problem in another) We absolutely LOVED staying at Orange Lake Resort this trip and we will definitely be returning. Many thanks and special kudos to Ally at Registration and Kelly at River Island Grilling Company for your outstanding Professional and personable mannerisms that made our stay at Orange Lake Resort excellent!

Decent stay but missing the mark
I recently stayed for 2 nights. My impression of the hotel was good however they did not clean my room at all. Furthermore, there was no soda machines as you typically find in a hotel. Instead they sell you a cup for 16$ that can be refilled as many times. That is of course, unless there is a problem with the machine. It only lets you dispense once every 8 minutes so when the machine was out of that particular drink, I could not even use the other machine to get a drink. My suggestion, if the hotel reads this, is to offer 1-2 of these cups for priority club members.

Good resort
Expensive resort and somewhat deceptive with cost for using tubes in the lazy river...extra. Staff was friendly and food was delicious. Advertising 9 restaurants is not true when 50% of them were snack bars. We didn’t know our phone was not working in our villa, but they have my cellphone on record and didn’t contact me to inform us we needed to stop by the front desk and settle up our balance. Instead they deactivated our room card and we couldn’t enter our villa one evening. Very inconsistent and a huge inconvenience.
