Just Don't

I'm a long time loyal IHG member and I do not recommend this property. Unless you enjoy high pressure timeshare sales pitches and an overpriced room with no services. I could have gotten a nicer condo for less money in a better location on level ground. I thought I was paying for a full service property with a restaurant, bar, and housekeeping. I was mislead. It is also up a steep hill from town, so even though it's a short walk, it's a strenuous one. The sofa sleeper felt like a wafer with a lot of springs poking through. It was impossible to sleep on and my adult son ended up sleeping on the floor instead.

My visit to gatlinburg

I had a great stay besides being harassed by salespeople to do the time share presentation, at the front desk is expected but was surprised when a man called my room with an attitude questioning why I wouldn’t come. At that point he was interrupting my vacation and being rude I am a paying customer to be there and shouldn’t be questioned

Excellent place to unwind. City activities close but far enough away so not to interfere with stay quality. Water park ideal for young people but not for adults. Food and beverage on site would be a a nice addition.

Comfortable bed and great staff

The room was great. It was odd to have the toilet in a closet with the spa tub sitting in the open in the room. The shower was nice and the built in bench was appreciated. I had edited the reservation to ask to be close to the elevator, but our room was the furthest away from the elevator. I assumed the request just hadn't made it to the printed or onscreen request. I wasn't interested in attending any sales meeting, but the vacation desk rep really talked up Anakeesta, so we attended to get the discounted tickets. Anakeesta was a huge disappointment, so we were a bit resentful of the whole situation. Other than that, the place was nice.

Could be better

We really were looking forward to this trip as none of us had ever been to Gatlinburg. We really wanted to love the experience but they didn't have a big enough room that fully met our needs and we're overbooked so we couldn't get an upgrade. We were extremely disappointed by the pressure to go on a timeshare presentation as soon as we got there. We had traveled over 6 hours in the car with our small children and then expected to deal with high pressured sales tactics. Once we got to the room, it was okay... just very small for 4 people to share. My son and daughter had to share a pull out couch bed. Our bed was absolutely horrible. Most of our experiences with IHG hotels have been pleasant, but this one wasn't. It was extremely uncomfortable, rock hard, and hard to sleep on. The saving grace was the fact that our kids loved the little indoor waterpark. It's definitely geared more towards smaller children, but even my 13 year old enjoyed himself. We will probably not come back to this resort.

Overall nice place. Loved the indoor water area for the kids, just wished the pool was a little farther away from it.

Family

Rooms were big enough for use to treat our entire family who was there in hotel with us but would have been nice to have more amenities at the resort for us to hangout there without having to go to another location

Nice spacious room

Personally, I liked the resort. However the time share that your pressured into is not good business for people who are getting away from reality to go and be stress free. I spend my hard earned money to go stay at a resort to relax and get the time share run down appointment pressure before I can get my parking pass and room key and get charged 40 dollars to make sure I go if not they keep your 40.

Great getaway

The room was amazing. So spacious. The kitchen had everything you needed. The bedroom was comfortable and roomy. I wouldn't change anything.
