Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated acquired The Royal Cancun, The Royal Sands, The Royal Haciendas and Grand Residences by Royal Resorts. Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated also acquired most of Royal Resorts’ related companies and its corporate operations.

These resorts are located in destinations that you and others have been requesting for years. Located in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Puerto Morelos, The Royal Sands, The Royal Cancun, The Royal Haciendas, and Grand Residences by Royal Resorts are in the heart of one of the most popular and fastest growing family travel destinations in the world—the Mexican Caribbean. This scenic destination offers beaches, water sports, nature parks, and a variety of unique activities to enjoy. The second largest coral reef in the world lies just offshore, and the area is a gateway to the historic Maya world, where many ancient cities await.

Royal Resorts was founded in 1975 and welcomed their first guests in 1978. A well-known, respected, and trusted brand, Royal Resorts has been instrumental in transforming Cancun and the Riviera Maya coastline into vacation destinations of choice for families around the world. Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated has long admired Royal Resorts as a pioneer in vacation ownership, hospitality, and family travel, and that admiration has only grown as we’ve gotten to know this team even better through this process.

All-inclusive is an upgrade option that covers food, drinks, activities, and entertainment. It is available at all four Royal Resorts properties (The Royal Sands, The Royal Cancun, The Royal Haciendas, and Grand Residences by Royal Resorts). This is new for Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated, and given the wide variety of choices at each of the resorts, there’s a lot of excitement around this new offering.

Optional for Holiday Inn Club members, an All-In Grand Package is available at the resort. This all-inclusive option can only be purchased with cash or cash equivalents and cannot be purchased with Points.

Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated (HICV) purchased Royal Resorts’ stock, therefore it owns the four resorts, including the management contracts. The resorts will become affiliated with its Club, and existing Club members will be able to directly exchange their inventory. We liken this transaction to other additions made to the HICV network, where HICV will now manage the inventory, and the owners have use rights and residual rights related to the memberships they’ve purchased.

The immediate plan is to allow the great Royal Resorts teams in Mexico to continue what they have been doing for over four decades—making wonderful vacations for their members and guests. In the long term, Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated plans to focus on enhancing the properties and customer experience at each resort.

While this is our first international acquisition, we will continue looking for opportunities to add family-friendly resorts that offer our Owners, Club Members, and guests exceptional vacation experiences– both within and outside the U.S. That has been core to our growth strategy for many years and will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.

These resorts are available for Holiday Inn Club Members to book with Club Points; however, due to the popularity of these resorts, inventory is extremely limited. To book a stay, Club Members should call Holiday Inn Club directly at (877) 606-2582. Until these resorts are added to the Holiday Inn Club Member website, Club Members must call our team to book a stay. Please note: because these bookings will require Club Points, any fixed-week or float-week Owners will not be able to participate.

Holiday Inn Club Members can use their Holiday Inn Club points to book a stay at one of the four acquired Royal Resorts properties. Holiday Inn Club Members are not required to use an exchange partner, such as RCI or Interval International, to book a stay at these resorts. Please note: due to the popularity of these resorts, inventory is extremely limited.

Plus, the resorts acquired by Holiday Inn Club Vacations–The Royal Sands, The Royal Cancun, The Royal Haciendas and Grand Residences by Royal Resorts–offer many amenities and activities for all ages, including (but not limited to) direct beach access, pools, spas, shops, restaurants, fitness centers, and supervised kids clubs.

The safety and security of team members and guests are a top priority for Holiday Inn Club Vacations and Royal Resorts. At The Royal Sands, The Royal Cancun, The Royal Haciendas, and Grand Residences by Royal Resorts, security teams are on duty 24 hours a day to patrol the properties, guest and team member entrances, and beaches in front of each resort.
