Naegle Buildings Restoration Project

Winter 2023 went on record as the second snowiest in the past 77 years, with more than 56 feet of snowfall (UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab). Due to this snowfall, the three Naegle buildings sustained structural, roof and guest room damage causing the temporary closure, through at least April 1, 2024. During this time, guests will not be permitted to stay in villas within these buildings.

The safety and security of our owners, Club members, guests and team members is always our top priority. However, given the amount of damage incurred from the winter, completing the restoration will take many months. As far as timing, it is critical that we undertake this work immediately to pre-empt the first snowfall, which will slow down the construction progress.

At this time, the three Naegle buildings are expected to be temporarily closed through at least April 1, 2024. Also, due to the amount of construction, and for owner safety, pathways for certain amenities may be restricted or temporarily closed (i.e., Tennis Bubble and the Naegle building hiking path).This timing reflects a current estimate of the restoration project, and may be adjusted.

Next Steps for Naegle Owners

While these buildings are being restored, guests and owners will not be permitted to stay in the villas.

If your ownership interest is located in one of the Naegle buildings and you already booked a stay taking place over the next 12 months, our team has already updated your stay to another building. You should have received communications from our team regarding this update.
