Vacation Starts as a Nightmare but Get Better

Booked here for 4 nights as a Family Vacation to Galveston, the first night our room was a NIGHTMARE (to many thing wrong to list here) and EXTREMELY SMALL Room. After going to the Management of the resort and a couple of calls to IHG customer service we were moved to the biggest and nicest room in the resort, and refunded all our money for all 4 nights. Thank You IHG for making what would have been the worst family vacation ever turn out good.

Poor experience

Broken elevator that was never repaired during stay. Room was unclean and had couple cockroaches. There was a leak or something in the bedroom and the carpet was wet. Also the closet smelled of mildew. People smoked in the pool area regularly even though there are signs that say no smoking and with children in the vicinity . Drunk residents in the pool area broke out fighting with family and children in the area.

Eastside elevator did not operate and had been out for 2 weeks.

Our room was dirty, furniture in poor shape, alarm clock did not work, outside door was missing a handle, and electrical outlet by sink did not work. We have stayed at this property many times, and were really disappointed this time. It seems like the overall up keep of the property has gone down. I asked that the price be adjusted due to all of the issues we had, but still have not heard anything from Management.

great place to relax,but...

This resort is awesome but I have one complaint about one very annoying thing After driving for 6 hours to get to Galveston, we couldn't go straight to our room. We had to politely endure a young lady try to get us to attend a presentation about buying a timeshare before we could get our parking pass. We weren't pressured at all and the ladies were very pleasant, but it was extremely annoying not to just get my key and start my vacation I will stay here again in the future, but I don't think I should have to go through that just to get to my room

Excellent weekend getaway

Everything is excellent about this hotel and our stay! We would surely come back and stay at this hotel when we get to visit the Galveston area in the future! From checking in and out, our villa room, amenities and location this is superb!!! Our family and friends are already asking about this hotel for their future stay near Galveston they surely would love it here!

Great Room

Wonderful stay. Friendly staff. Great room. Room wasn't quite ready as incidentals weren't stocked, ex. Tp, etc. Shower drain was plugged up, but promptly fixed. The pool area was plagued by smokers several days even though it was designated as non-smoking area. Overall, wonderful stay. We highly recommend.

IHG points review /offer

We were offered appt to review points-what was supposed to be 1 hour turned into 3 . Rep was courteous - however we did not allow/expect time frame. We had never been offered points review prior (have been with Holiday Inn 5 years). While "the bottom line" offer was excellent, it was an INTRO offer-not to be repeated. We are not in a position for any more expenses at this time-yet I feel as an owner, that option should be made avaialable at a later date! Owners are the OWNERS

Great family resort

Greeted by a friendly staff. This was our 2nd stay here. Great family atmosphere.. Villas are spacious

Hotel on the beach!

Great views and easy access to the beach! Best part is not having to walk across the street to get the beach like every other hotel in Galveston.

Vacation Time

We are a family of 3, have a good time thanks to a great location close to the beach. Room is very small specially for the price you pay for it, but on the other part is clean and have all the necessary, i am just complaining because on the website shows a much bigger room once you there is very disappointing, it supposed to accommodate 4 people but it is really good for 2. I will go again but this time ill be sure to get a bigger room.
