Staycation

Being from a neighboring town I have always driven past the IHG resort on 3005 and wanted to stay. We chose this resort for the space, the beach, and the pool. The villa was amazing minus the pool storage blocking the ocean view we paid for. It would have been nice to be able to rent beach chairs and umbrellas for the beach from IHG or a private business like they have on the Galveston beaches or at the first IHG resort that is before Jamaica Beach rather than carrying them over the bridge to get to the beach. It was nice that there was an area to rinse off from the beach at the start of the bridge. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. If you chose an ocean view be sure to mention you don’t want to be in view of pool storage at check in. The air vent in the room with the king bed did not seem to be working in 107 so we kept the doors open to be comfortable.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Wonderful

Our stay at the Galveston Seaside resort was excellent. There were many amenities available for all guests, and the staff was helpful in explaining them to us. We also loved the connection to the beach as well as the cleanliness of our room. We can’t wait to book our next stay at the resort.

Yes, I recommend this property.

The Adams experience at the Signature!

We enjoyed our stay! The Signature Villa is our favorite place to stay! I want to request room 306 every time we vacation there. The room was clean and very presentable. We enjoyed the swimming pool. Our family had great competition playing miniature golf. The lights on part of the course were not on, but we finished the 18 hole course.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Chaotic Check-In, Non-Functional Keys, Wrong Room

I’m a frequent IHG traveler, mother worked with some of the higher-ups in design. So I typically choose this brand because I know what to expect. This stay in Galveston awful, and I’m writing this in detail because I think upper- management should know exactly where things broke down. It was the most stressful “resort” experience I could’ve had. I arrived around 9:30 PM and decided, spontaneously, to extend my stay a second night. It was my first time seeing the Gulf, and I wanted an extra day to enjoy it. The front desk agent told me I couldn’t extend at the desk and would need to book a second night through the app before 11 PM. I did so immediately, in front of him, and asked him to confirm the booking had gone through correctly. What followed was a series of contradictory answers: first that the night had been added, then that I’d need to return the next day to “recharge my bracelet,” then that he couldn’t do anything because I’d booked through “a third-party app” which was weird.. I was booking directly through the official IHG app, with him watching. He just really didn’t want to help me. He charged me a resort amenities fee, then told me I didn’t have access to the amenities. At no point did he explain how to get to my room or what the wristband was for. Or what “amenities” I was paying for.. clearly other people’s because, I had none. I got to my third-floor room exhausted with all my bags, and the key didn’t work. I called the desk; I was told a tech could come, but it would be faster to drive back to the lobby.. so I repacked my car and did. At the desk, I was told my second night had “just come through,” which contradicted what I’d been told moments earlier. My key was recharged, I returned to my room, and it still didn’t work. I called again, was told a tech would be sent, and in the course of that call discovered the map I’d been given listed the wrong room number.. meaning I’d been trying to let myself into a stranger’s room at 10:30 PM. I eventually found the correct room and got in, well over an hour after I’d first arrived at the property. The next morning, uncertain whether I’d actually been booked correctly, I called the front desk to confirm before I headed to the beach for the day. The first call was answered and immediately hung up. The second call put me on hold for roughly fifteen minutes, and after finally connecting, I was placed on hold again for another 10min. The agent who eventually helped me was curt, told me my confirmation number “didn’t match,” and informed me I wasn’t in the system correctly meaning I would have been locked out of my room at 10 AM had I not called. She showed no interest in the previous night’s issues and my patience had ran out. I had to return to the front desk and get my bracelet recharged AGAIN. None of this would’ve been a problem independently.. but between the call and driving back and forth to the front desk.. I lost another hour of my quick vacation/day. Beyond the service failures, the stairwell to my room was visibly dirty, littered with cigarette butts and trash.. not what I’d expect at a property marketed as a resort. The room itself, once I finally reached it, was fine, cleaned in a hurry, plunger sitting in the corner, toilet running, hair on the floor, shower that didn’t want to switch. The only gesture offered afterward was a “complimentary upgrade” to the room I was already occupying, during the off-season. not exactly a meaningful remedy. I was also charged noticeably more for the second night than the first, with no explanation offered at any point about how the rate or booking process worked. I don’t write reviews often, but after 4 separate service breakdowns in under 12 hours, a mishandled booking, 2 non-functional keys, a wrong room number, and totally dismissive service. I think this is warranted. I’d look closely at front-desk training and staffing at this property. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone I care about.. this place sucked the life out of me.

Week stay with the kids.

Check in was a breeze, we arrived early it wasn't an inconvenience. Thank you. We did have issues with one of our showers. They had it fixed within an hour. Amazing Staff responsiveness. Overall it was a great deal, yes it could've been better. (Beach rentals) Yes you did advise me to down to Rick's. Paige. But it would have been more convenient. But Rick's was very helpful. Thanks again to all the Staff!

Good hotel

Hotel is nice, pool leaves a little to be desired but it’s a nice pool. Can keep your room ice cold if you desire but if you lose power it’s a furnace (wasn’t hotels fault) staff is friendly and helpful

Yes, I recommend this property.

Family of 6 Vacation

We stayed 3nights in the two bedroom signature villas. Everything was great, beds were comfortable, ocean view was awesome and the pool was a hit. Boardwalk access was right in front of the property. All staff was helpful and friendly. The room had everything we needed, even a washer and dryer. The trip was very relaxing. We will be back again!
