Vacation

This resort was amazing, I wish it had elevators to make the experience easier. But otherwise it was a great place with a lot of things for the kids and adults to do. And the discounts to moody gardens was amazing.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Great property with a couple faukts

The overall stay and the amenities were great. Our family age ranges from 37 to 9 years old. There’s something for everyone. However, we could not use the pool over looking the beach as shown in photographs unless you buy into their timeshare at the time of stay (you can decline this-no push to buy to stay). The location of the beach/ocean is across the roadway, while still having access to it from the resort it is NOT on the beach itself. There was also a mosquito infestation on the property that was not enjoyable as we could not do the amenities from dusk to their closing hours of the property. We did get bug spray to use after getting out of the pool and to get into our room. If the mosquitoes wouldn’t have been swarming the property, it would have been a much more enjoyable experience on the property itself. We have stayed at other Holiday Inn Vacation Clubs and they all fit our family needs perfectly for a reasonable cost. I do still highly recommend this resort.

Misrepresented accommodations!Signature villa only

The primary reason I selected this property was the prominently featured infinity-edge pool displayed throughout the property's listing on both the corporate platform and through Expedia. The photographs and marketing material strongly suggested that this pool was an amenity available to guests staying at the resort. However, upon contacting the front desk after booking and upon arrival, I was informed that the two-bedroom villa I reserved is located on the opposite side of the highway and does not provide access to the advertised pool. This information was not clearly disclosed during the booking process. Had I known that guests in the villa accommodations would not have access to the featured pool, I would not have booked this property. Consumers should not be required to conduct independent research to determine whether the most prominently advertised amenity is actually available to their room type. When I raised my concerns at check-in, I was informed that no alternative accommodations were available that would provide access to the advertised pool. More importantly, there were no rooms available providing safe walking distance to the beach and infinity edge pool. As a result, my family was left in accommodations that did not match the expectations created by the property's marketing materials. Unfortunately, the issues extended well beyond the pool access concern. The first unit assigned to us had a strong urine odor, creating an unacceptable and unsanitary environment. Monica at the front desk was professional and helpful in relocating us to another unit and providing a pool key card, and I appreciate her efforts. However, the replacement unit still had a noticeable urine odor on a living room chair and had clearly not been properly cleaned. The floors were dirty, and there was visible black and pink mold present in the showers. Additionally, I was surprised to find that a property marketed as a resort offered only basic cable television service. There were no smart TVs or integrated streaming capabilities available for guests. In order for my family to access streaming services, I had to contact the front desk from my personal cell phone to inquire about obtaining an HDMI cable so I could connect my work laptop to the television. This level of amenity falls well below what most travelers reasonably expect today, particularly at a property charging resort-level rates. For a stay costing nearly $600, the overall experience was unacceptable. The combination of misleading marketing, lack of access to the featured amenity, unsanitary room conditions, and the overall disparity between the property's online presentation and its actual condition resulted in a stay that did not reflect the value or quality represented during booking. Initially, I believed Expedia was responsible for the inaccurate representation. However, after further research, I understand that the property information and imagery provided on Expedia originate from IHG. During my stay, I also encountered an IHG Platinum member who experienced the same issue regarding the advertised pool and room assignment, suggesting this may be an ongoing and widespread problem rather than an isolated misunderstanding.

No, I do not recommend this property.

A great spot in Galveston

This resort is a gem. Do you want privacy? They have it. Direct beach access? Stay in the Signature building and you walk right to the beach. And it’s a short drive to all of the spots in Galveston but far enough away that your evenings are more peaceful. The accommodations were great and our family had a fun retreat. The only frustration was that the signature pool was closed until 5:00pm the night before we left. There was another pool and it was not clean when we went to it. Other than that it was a great stay!

Advertised room vs actual room

Room amenities advertised such as washer dryer in room are false. Most rooms are stair access only with 1st floor being up one flight of stairs. Beach access is across highway not from resort. Floor sagging, bathroom in king room was in room not seperated by door - overall false advertising and would not recommend

No, I do not recommend this property.

The Great Escape Away From Life for a Few Days

No kids, no work, peaceful quiet 2 bed 2 bath jacuzzi villa with balcony to see the ocean, clean, newly decorated, new appliances, lovely white/ blue decor, windows overlooking lovely seaside landscape, balcony with table chairs to eat outside and enjoy the views. Large table for 6. The 3 nights/ 4 days were perfect. I did not want to go home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo was wonderfully furnished, clean, comfortable, and very large. We loved being right on the beach with such easy access. The infinity pool and hot tub were wonderful.
