Perfect Getaway

My husband and I were able to take a weekend getaway without the kids, which is so rare. However, when we arrived we couldn’t help but feel like we may have found “our place” on the island. We’ve been brining our kids and family members to Galveston for extended stays for about 16 years now, but this is likely where we’ll gravitate from now on. It’s very clean, wonderful and unobstructed gulf views from the beachside property, the kitchen is only missing cutting boards, full sized everything- fridge, stove, (double) ovens, beverage fridge, washer and dryer, and outdoor table on patio. We stayed in a 2-bedroom villa and the beds were both king, and very comfortable with pillows that held their shape. Linens were plentiful, fans had remotes, channel list for the tv, and the washer and dryer were quiet, as well as a quiet dishwasher. There was a little noise from maid service, or some team, in the unit next door the first full day of our stay. We could hear a lot of activity in the living room and kitchen, but it didn’t happen again and with the bedroom door shut we couldn’t hear it at all. We didn’t love being called again Saturday morning to be pulled into a time share presentation. We had already said no at check-in. Unplug your phone in the unit if you don’t want to have to repeatedly say no. The elevators to the fourth floor weren’t operational but it seemed to be due to renovation work, so temporary.

Timeshare lots of pressure

Stayed 12/28 - 12/31 it’s a timeshare bait and switch.. if you’re not a signature member you can NOT access the advertised infinity pool, you are NOT on the beach. The room was out of body wash, the coffee pot had the wrong basket (wouldn’t fit). EXTREME pressure to attend 90 minute sales pitch! Pressure at check in, texted several times and even called the room after they were told several times no!

Comfortable, Beautiful, and Family-Friendly

We had a great stay! Everyone was kind and welcoming. The only issue was I couldn’t access the TV in the bedroom, but the kids had no trouble connecting to the TVs in the bedroom and living room. The place was beautiful felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel. Club Vacations Holiday Inn did not disappoint.

Better than expected

The signature collection was more than I could have expected. It made you feel like you were home away from home. The kitchen was laundry area was fully stocked with everything you need.

Family vacation

The hotel is a great place to have family time without electronics. There is a lot of activity options. The mini golf was a blast for all of us. I didn’t like being on the 3rd floor. Climbing those steps about killed me. We went on the off season so we played basketball and tennis without waiting. They have a great kitchen with what you need to cook. Be prepared and make a grocery store stop first. There are no fast food stops, restaurants, or stores near by. We did not stay on the signature side so we had to drive across a busy street and park on that side. That’s how we accessed the beach. The nice pool on the pictures is for signature use only. The other guests have the other pool. It was still nice but not fancy. It was a cooler day but my kids still wanted to go into that cold water. I liked the view of the cows in the nextdoor property. The room was very nice and clean. I’m not sure how often they clean but it’s not daily. We stayed for 2 nights. The office is walking distance but rooms are in separate buildings. The office staff would send texts asking how everything was. I thought this was great because sometimes I needed to respond with questions. I took my 10 and 13 year olds. They had loads of fun. We loved our family time there.

Our stay

Our overall stay was great. The rooms were clean beds were very comfy. The ladies at check in were very nice and helpful. The two ladies at the store/laundry center were also awesome. There was on lady working the bar on Saturday that was rude and seem to have a bad attitude. The only complaint that me and my wife had was that we weren't able to use the infinity pool. Wich was the primary reason we booked our stay for our 19th year anniversary. The website lists the infinity pool as an amenity but does not state only if you are staying in the building with the infinity pool. We were allowed to use everything else on both properties except the infinity pool. My conformation email also had a picture of the property with the pool that was beach side. Very misleading

Great little resort, perfect for a honeymoon you c

The rooms are amazing and it’s far enough out of the city for it to be extremely quiet in the evenings no foot traffic very secluded. You can walk to the beach and at night you can sit on the back porch and there’s no noise.
