Great Place To Stay
We have come to Galveston for the past several years. We have a church conference we attend in Silsbee and spend a week in Galveston before going to the conference. For the past four out of five years we have stayed at Seaside Resort. We love the direct access to the beach, the amenities, and the great staff. We have stayed at the other IHG Resort, up the road from this one, but truly prefer this one. It is quieter and less busy. We stay in the signature building. However, we have seen the other accommodations across the street and they are super nice. We prefer the Signature side because all the rooms face the gulf and the sunrise is beyond words. Would recommend this property (staying on either side) a hundred times over.

Nice place, but not as trustworthy as I expected
I will start by stating, I would have given this resort 5 stars, but following the departure and realizing we left two shirts hanging dropped it to 2 stars. Over all the place is nice, beds are comfortable, rooms are clean. Just be sure not to accidentally leave something in the room. You will NOT get it back. They tried to tell me how they have a Strick lost and found policy, but obviously they do not. We accidentally left two shirts in the closet and low and behold nothing was turned into lost and found. We were told they checked the closet, house keeping did not have them, lost and found did not have them. I guess they just mysteriously vanished into thin air or second option.. they were stolen. WARNING: Be sure you do not leave an item in the room as you will NOT get it back!

Clean and big space
The space was great with teens and small kids. Use your car to cross the busy street to get to the beach. Very dangerous road to cross by foot with kids to get to the beach. But the property did not have all the resort features advertised. A simple gym for would have been nice to have since it was a resort. It felt more like a VRBO without the cleaning fee. The pool was not a resort type pool. It was very sad and old looking. Also the cafe was not open. Buy food and bring with you before you go.

Great place to stay with family. The room we got this time was smaller then the one we normally stay in. I asked about an update as i am a platinum elite ambassador but was not given one.

Location can't be beat, check in easy, beware of vacation club desk. They couldn't tell the truth if they had to.

Owners only attitude!
We have stayed with IHG hotels and resorts for years so we know how amazing they can be. I will say this was the most disappointing check in I have ever had!! The actual check in took forever because there was only one person, however they were very friendly. The problem came when I was sent to get the parking pass. First of all being rooms were booked directly on the IHG website means I am under zero obligation to listen to the sales pitch for a timeshare. I politely stated "no thank you we have an agreement in our home not to buy timeshares". The response ... well we are changing our policy to not accept people who are not owners!! The woman was quite rude and her anger towards us not being interested was evident !! She definitely did not make me want to be apart of ownership in anywhere that would treat people in such a manner. I would like to recognize the people at the entrance hut, they all were very courteous during our stay. Getting to the room it was clean for the most part. The bathroom definitely needs some TLC, as there was no pressure in the shower and showerhead would not adjust. The jetted tub looked dirty as well as was missing all the covers on the water returns, so didn't end up attempting to even use it even though that was one of the main reasons we went with this level of room.
