Berkshires vacation

Roomy accomodations for a family on a beautiful property in the Berkshires with great pools and a miniature golf course and tennis courts.

Room review

Found my room had multiple cob webs along the furniture, adjacent to the patio doors, and the patio was fairly dirty.

BEWARE of Bears and Indifferent Management

BEWARE of this property. Huge black bears roaming near the rooms going through large, unlocked garbage bins. One bear was outside our room. Black bears will attack. Negligent management. In addition, we were with a large block of rooms attending a wedding at the Edith Wharton House. Two nice pairs of slacks were destroyed by the iron in our room. I took the iron, both pants and a note to the front desk for management to look at. We asked for nothing in return even though we had to race out a purchase presentable clothing. Upon returning home, a female manager sent a snide email accusing us of using the iron on a medium or high setting. Both slacks were ironed on a low setting. Shame on her. Many people stayed there with our group. We did not have audacity to tell the wedding party of this second issue, and rain on their joy. Most people were made aware of the bear by other guests, not management. It will be interesting how this manager tries to spin her way out of this dangerous day and night situation.

Retreat Setting

Location, quality housing, fresh air, quiet atmosphere and so much more has made my first time being at the Oak N Spruce a place I must visit again and to stay much longer to take advantage of all amenities available. I will be proud to introduce my friends to come.

Yes, I recommend this property.

TOWNHOUSE UNITS

We enjoyed our stays and feel very confortable with the resort. The townhouse units need upgrades to kitchen and bathrooms. Especially the inside of the cabinets. The bathroom sinks did not drain properly. The unit could have been cleaner. Air conditioning needs to be addressed in the upstairs

Does Not Meet Quality Level Expected of Brand

I've posted comments here and on Expedia. A lot of money for very poor service, questionable building conditions and cleanliness, lack of supervision for pool and common areas, miserable "breakfast" (microwaved pancakes or omelet with instant coffee - all charged for and served by surly staff), practically no cell service and unsecured wifi. Charged a "resort" fee for pretty much no resort amenities. IHG - with whom I generally have no issue and have had very pleasant stays - needs to audit these properties and spin off low performing properties such as this one. Detracted from what should have been a fun, restful weekend.

No, I do not recommend this property.

Excellent place for relaxation and excitement

Already recommended friends and family to visit if they choose to go to the berkshires. I also noticed there is another hotel in Vermont I will be making reservations for in the near future. Loved it that much. Will also repeat a stay at this hotel next year.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Vacation Club is NOT IHG - Stay Away from all

This hotel is dirty and run down. My second bad experience with IHG Vacation Clubs. Stay away from them. Only stayed there because a hotel site offered a quick drop in price making this much cheaper than anywhere nearby. Steep staircase in unit to carry your luggage up to bedroom level. Didn't need the kitchen, but wouldn't have used it it was so dirty. No charm
