Safety and cleanliness issues
My wife and I rented a 2 bedroom condo for a long weekend and we had other friends there as well. My wife noticed a large yellow stain on the comforter. I also noticed in one of the rooms the smoke detector was missing from its bracket which is a huge safety concern. I did not notice the smoke detector until the last day as no one was staying in this room, however if there were a fire from that room or near it we may not have been alerted in time to leave the room and call for help. I called customer service and was advised that there was no manager on duty at the time i called but was assured a manager would call me back. This was 6 days ago and no one has called me back. I was only going to make sure they knew the situation as i would want to know if my property could possibly put someone in danger and if my property was unsanitary. Now i am writing this review because no one called me back after 6 days so the customer service is definitely poor.

In wait for Hurricane Dorian
Although Storm missed us, facilities were not returned to normal quickly, e.g, pol, miniture golf, welcoming party on Sunday night. In fact was told Sunday night party was on only to find cancelled 30 minutes prior to party. Guest lounge closed for multiple days even though no apparent reason.

Been coming for years
Love this property.Thos is just a review of my last visit we have had plenty of visits with no issues. Encountered some not so friendly people at check in. A lot of I dont know responses to simple questions. Room had a wet carpet and a moldy wet smell. Called the staff nothing was done. My 10 month old son who just started crawling was all over the wet carpet. This was not so pleasant. We should have been moved.

What is going on here?
The check in was fine. Friendly front desk and all, although the hard sell on the vacation club was a little much, even after going through the whole pitch, I agreed to the resort tour, and then discovered I want even eligible because of the date of my flight. There's 20 minutes I can't get back. Then the room. Clean, quiet, initially I thought it would be great. First the tv in the living room didn't work, oh well. Then the sink in the bathroom wouldn't drain. This is getting annoying. Then the dryer didn't work. Ugh. Then I looked at the front door, it had been kicked in at some point destroying the the safety bolt and door trim. I cannot fathom how that goes overlooked. We stayed for 4 days, and never had housecleaning come in for anything. No clean towels, no shampoo/conditioner/soap. And with no dryer, that really sucked. Then, on check out day, I couldn't get a checkout later than 10:00 am. I have never had a problem getting a late check-out at competitor properties I stay at. Lastly, I only chose this hotel based in air miles, and paid the taxes and fees there, then had to pay more fees again at the front desk. This will be the last time I stay here.

Great family hotel
This hotel offers a clean, spacious comfortable room for families with lots of amenities and activities for all ages. River Island offers everything you need for a relaxing and fun vacation without having to leave the resort. It is a cash free resort which is very convenient. It is also in a great location for shopping, restaurants and theme parks.

I had an amazing time at the resort. Nicholas checked me in. He went over all the amenities the hotel had to offer and explained every detail. He was very nice and as an IHG employee myself, I was very impressed. We took the hotel shuttle a few times and Charle drove us for one of those rides, he was a great driver and announced all the stops so we knew where to get off. I wish I knew the resort was cashless so that I wouldn’t have taken as much cash as I did but that did not affect my stay. One morning, housekeeping was cleaning rooms around mine and was a little loud that it woke me up but it was only once. I loved that the room included the kitchenette. I would definitely stay again in the future and hopefully for a longer stay. We loved the drinks at the breeze bar. The food was OK but I could definitely tell it was reheated. I think the marketplace could be expanding and offer more things but it was handy regardless.
