Good Result Marred by Noise and Service

The resort itself is good. It's a large resort with nice driveways and grounds.However you'll need your own transport or have to use the resort shuttle to get around, unless you like long walks. There are 2 18 hole Golf Courses and 2 9 hole courses that are good to play but not in top condition (may be the time of year). There is a good Golf Academy but tuition is somewhat expensive. The villas are nice, fairly spacious and well equipped but could do with a bit better cleaning. Also they need to be more pro-active at keeping the bugs and cockroaches down. There are several nice pools, the biggest being the Lazy River area. However having paid a fair amount to stay here I object to being charged for the rings at Lazy River. The main pools have Gyms nearby which are fairly well equipped, especially now that Mussels has been updated. Biggest problem though are the noise levels around the main pool areas. Overly loud, moronic music is played pretty much all day long, it's often at disco club levels. This made it impossible for me to relax and unwind and anyone wanting a relaxing holiday should go elsewhere, as I will be doing next year. The other issue is the staff and service. Although some are friendly and helpful there are others that are not. This is especially evident if you have a complaint or a problem. Contacting Resort Services is pretty much a waste of time - despite their hype they really don't want to know or just pay lip service to any negative feedback or complaints. Also as an IHG Spire Elite member I got zero welcome or recognition on arrival, which didn't impress me at all.

Expansive Resort

Mostly a really good place to stay......this was our 2nd visit in 3 years. This time I noticed that the pool and lazy river had a funky odor and looked very cloudy every day, so we didn't use it after the 1st day. However we did use 2 other pools in the other villages which were great. I think River Island needs to be closed to the general public and made available to guests only....especially as the cost to use the facility is very high ($9 a day to rent 1 tube - REALLY???) I think part of the problem with the cleanliness of the water and grounds is that there are way too many "day guests".....I would not be happy if I were an owner.

Great view and great service.

The room is surrounded by the golf course. It has a lot of pools and wonderful playing places. The service is very polite and comfortable. We went to this hotel many times. Each time we are very pleased and satisfied. The hotel is in good condition and well maintained all the time. We love this place for our family vacation. It is very friendly and healthy for children.

Avoid the inward facing rooms in the main reception block

Some of the Double rooms located in the main reception block do not have outside window or natural light, so unless you like living in a cave, avoid.

best place

we stayed here for 5 nights, place was big and very nice, kids loved it had a great time! we really enjoyed it would go back there again.

Room layout

We had an interior room that faced the courtyard. It was odd that when we walked in from the hall, we walked into the bedroom. Then the bathroom, then the "living room" and kitchen. I would much rather walking into the living space and have the bedroom to the back. Being an interior room, the room was very dark. We felt the lighting was poor, especially in the bathroom. The grounds were very nice and kept very nice and clean. The pool area was very clean and open. Everyone liked the lazy river.

Don't stay intennis villas

If you want to here basketballs bouncing all night then stay here in the tennis court area. We stayed in room 5500 bulding and besides kids playing basketball al night they leave the spot lights on all night. In the bedroom facing the courts there is no curtains just regular window blinds letting in lots of light. so beware also you have to call the front desk to find out how to play and DVD's in your room since there are no instructions on how do do this. Calling the front desk can take at least 5 min. before anyone answers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

INCREDIBLE RELAX PLACE!!

WE HAD A GREAT QUALITY OF FAMILY TIME DURING OUR STAY AT THE RESORT, IT HAS A LOT OF FAMILY ACTIVITIES, THE SERVICE IS GREAT AND THE PLACE IS REALLY SECURE, CLEAN AND VERY COMFORTABLE.

NICE Customer service. The entrance at villa was wonderful clean and nice atmosphere. Secure resort for my family. Excellent experience.
