Birthday Family Weekend

The 3 bedroom villa was very nice. Clean and the decor was updated. We did have to call front desk for toilet paper ( there was none in 3 bathrooms). There was a total of 12 family members that all arrived in the evening. We were not able to get to go food in the evening. waitress would only seat us inside. But since pool was only open until 10pm we did not want to waste time inside restaurant. Thankful we had a villa with kitchen. Next morning we were told at check in to call by 10am for late check out and was told no, but they did give us another hour. We were very appreciative of that since we had so many guests in our room. The pools were clean and lovely.We had a wonderful time until a thunderstorm closed the pool area. Once gathering our family we felt singled out by pool deck staff. Other people and families were still remained but were asked to leave. We had a group of 12 so it was hard to gather all of our children. We were told we could not be outside at all. We could be inside the arcade or the bar/restaurant. My family was badgerd over and over by pool staff. We were settling our children in the arcade while we were told again not to be outside. Finally bought beverages on our own at bar. No waiter to get us food. We sat for a while with no one able to tell us when pools would be open again. Still no food, no waiter, nothing! So as we decided to exit the property, once again told Extremely Rudely, not be be outside by pool staff. Again we had a large group of 12 and trying to gather all our family to leave. We were very upset by being treated this way. We loved the property and the villa was beautiful but we felt we were treated poorly as guests around the pool area.

Comfortable bed and great pools

First half of our trip was spent at a park resort and it did not compare to Orange Lake. We had to check out if our first hotel at 10am and Orange Lake had our room ready by noon. Love this place

Great resort

The resort itself is great but it is too crowded. I wish there were less people at the pool. I don’t like that you have to pay extra for on-site amenities such as a float in a lazy river

Pool was closed 50% of our stay

It rained the entire week we were there- this obviously is not the fault of the resort. However, any time the sun would poke it’s head out, we’d head down to the pool only to be told that it was closed because lightening was detected nearby. I downloaded a live lightening tracker and the lightening was always at least 20 miles away even though the resort said that the lightening was less than 5 miles away. The pool was closed multiple times per day, every single day, for an hour or more at a time. Any time I called the hotel from my phone, I’d be on hold for 20 minutes before I finally hung up. The resort is extremely short staffed and barely had any lifeguards at the pool to supervise the kids on the waterslide. It was an absolute free for all at the waterslide. A child got seriously injured, bleeding from the nose because he was walking up the waterslide and another child kicked him in the face on the way down. I’ve been staying at this property yearly and I am sad to say that I will not be returning here after this experience.

Awesome for a family of seven at all different ages!

Bad experience

This was our 4 th time on property. We always rented from an owner and was given some of the best treatment and rooms in the past. This time we rented direct from ihg and our experience was sub par. Our villa backed up a pool that was nice to use when we wanted in the late evenings but we were rudely awakened every morning by loud machines being used to clean off the pool area. To make things worse my daughter is a light sleeper and was also bothered every morning by the noise at 7am.

Accommodating and great value

Great place to stay for the price. The kids enjoyed being on the resort. Will be back next year!!

Good value and very clean hotel

Best in town. Need a good hotel to stay in between destinations, choose this hotel. You will not be disappointed.
