Don’t let them tell you your room is not ready

If you check in and they tell you your room is not ready, that means that the next step for you is a timeshare sales pitch before they’ll hand over the keys to your room. Staff is indifferent at best. If you prepay room, taxes and fees through EpicPass, make sure they don’t try to charge you again when you leave. They did that to me and it took most of my checkout morning to resolve it before I could head to the airport. Not a great stay at a really beautiful mountain.

No, I do not recommend this property.

Clean but cold experience

Overall we were very happy with the stay but we had some problems with the heating not working when we arrived. They fixed it but it failed again the last day

Yes, I recommend this property.

Great location, staff and idea, not executed perfectly

The location of this resort is great for those visiting Heavenly. The staff, activities provided, transportation, food options, rooms and feel are great. The quality of two of those categories are a bit lacking though. The buses that shuttle patrons from place to place are a bit inconsistent and overworked at times. Also, the gondola that was built to transport passengers down to the ski area was not working most of the time we tried to use it. The other thing I wish the resort did better was to warm up the indoor/outdoor pool and the jacuzzi to hotter temperatures. The pool was hardly bearable and the jacuzzi could have easily been 10 degrees hotter. Besides that, we had a great time here!

Yes, I recommend this property.

Amazing location. Staff cares deeply about customer care

I recently traveled here with two children to get away from the busy life. The staff here were incredibly helpful. We ended up snowed in and had to stay an extra day but the staff did everything they could to keep us in the same room so I didn't have to transfer all of our belongings to another room and they even allowed us to have a late check out which helped because the roads were not yet clear by 10:00 a.m. This is our favorite facility to stay at and our family tries to visit once a year.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Please read!!!

A shout out to Ms Lisa.. she tried her best to accommodate everything we needed…She was the only one that I felt .. cared about the entire situation … Not even her own manager cared for our stay.. She was a great example of great customer service in the end…

No, I do not recommend this property.

Make a Breakfast Plan

This was a great place to stay, especially as you can basically ski in/out to Heavenly ski resort, aside for that breakfast is not provided. If your room has a kitchen it would be most convenient to just bring your own food if you're on a schedule because your only options start at 8am and are limited. We had a full kitchen in our room we did not end up using. There is a store on site that opens at 8:00am that has various packaged items (pastries etc) along with cookable food. They have warm breakfast burritos Thursdays through Sunday. There is a breakfast spot down the street which looked good that opens at 8:30am for which they'll give you a 10% off coupon; we didn't go but I could see it could getting packed on a busy day (saturday/sunday). They have a restaurant on site that has lunch and dinner, but we didn't go there either. South Lake Tahoe is just 15 minutes. Basically just be aware of the breakfast situation.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Beware: NOT ski-in/ski-out

Many small and one BIG detractor to staying here. The small things: 1) room floor had gravel on it, 2) neighbor travelers were nice people but a large family cooking malodorous foods and slamming pots around all night cleaning up with super thin walls, 3) room was at car headlight level shining through the blinds with passing cars, 4) hot tub was atrocious and unusable, 4) check-in staff is either new and untrained or burned out and cranky, 5) bathroom was large yet the shower was smaller than a shower on a cruise ship. …and the really big detractor: it is NOT ski-in/ski-out. If this is what you’re expecting, change your expectations. In their words from two different locations on their website: 1: “The Nevada resort is beside Heavenly Ski Resort with a ski-in/ski-out Skier Express to the Heavenly Stagecoach Lift.” 2: “Our Tahoe Ridge Resort will keep your ski boot walking to a minimum with a direct connection to nearby Heavenly Mountain via our Skier Express* gondola service.” This could not be further from the truth. What they don’t tell you is that many of their rooms are miles away from the resort proper, and the only way to get back is to use their on-demand shuttle. The evening we arrived we attempted to use this shuttle service. The number you call won’t be answered before 5 minutes of ringing and then a “Hello, Security and Transportation”. We provided our location and watched the first shuttle drive right past us. We called again with another 5m of ringing. Got a second shuttle that did actually stop. I asked the driver about morning service to the lift and he said that it gets very busy in the morning and to expect long delays. When we got to the lodge I asked to speak with the manager. (Yeah, I’m that guy.) She was already grumpy (one of the burned out and cranky), and when I explained that though I paid for “ski in, ski out” and this wasn’t even close, her response was verbatim, “Well I don’t ski so I wouldn’t know.” That’s it. She took my name and room number and nothing came of that. I ended up driving back and forth to the Heavenly parking lot every day during my stay. Look, I’m not expecting to get anything for free. But when I’m paying an inflated price that is twice-described as ski-in/ski-out, I do expect to get that. I will never be staying here again. What I will be doing is helping people understand that regardless of what they say, this is NOT ski-in/ski-out. On the upside the bartender at The Bear Trap Lounge is really nice and the cheeseburger is good.

No, I do not recommend this property.

Great views poor service

At one point I called services and was talking to somebody and she hung up on me. I got an late checkout and our keys didn't work and was asked to go back to the main building to get new keys.
