Colossal Disappointment!
We had numerous issues with our stay at this hotel. Upon check in, we were told that our IHG Platinum Elite status didn't matter as we booked our trip through a partner site, Chase Rewards Travel. I thought this was weird since we received the status as members of Chase, but I'm new to the program so I just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and carried on. To get our room keys, we had to go see someone else whose job it was to try and get us to attend a time share talk or something. She told us that since we booked through a partner site that we were eligible for either resort credits or a trip to another property and asked us which of the bonuses we wanted. Of course there's no such thing as a free lunch, right? Sure enough, what wasn't immediately disclosed was that we'd need to sit through a 90 minute talk about booking a trip at some other property or something, and that these talks were all scheduled during the time Heavenly was open for skiing. We just wanted to get to our room after a long day of traveling, but our room keys were being held hostage by a sales pitch! Bad look. The worst part of the stay was our neighbors who were incredibly noisy and woke us up in the mornings. We brought this to the attention of the management multiple times but nothing was ever done about it. It's hard to ski your best when you don't get a good night's sleep! The tram that is supposed to ferry guests down to the Stagecoach Lodge wasn't operating, so the hotel was running a shuttle service that they said ran every "five to seven minutes". Unfortunately, the shuttle only held 10 or so people and it would regularly start at the top of the property (we were staying in the Plaza which is in the middle of the grounds) and fill up, so the shuttle seemed to always pass us. We ended up walking which wouldn't have been a big deal but the route wasn't clearly marked so it was a source of considerable frustration the first time we did it. Walking back was problematic because you had to cut through a building that you couldn't enter if you were staying in another building due to keycard access limitations, so if someone didn't happen to be there to let you in, you either had to wait or walk in on the other end of the building and up an extra flight of stairs. Not a huge lift but after a day of skiing with all of your gear? A bit frustrating to be sure. There is only one restaurant on the whole grounds. There are multiple hotel-sized buildings on the property and the one restaurant, which has maybe up to 20 tables, is not large enough. Also, it's only open until 8 PM, a fact not shared with us when we checked in later in the day due to a flight delay. We had to drive into town to find an open restaurant. Finally, we were given a late checkout but they didn't extend access on our keycards, so on that last day after squeezing in some runs in the morning, we had to hike up to the main desk (again, multiple buildings with guest rooms so the main desk was up a hill...in ski gear) and request them to straighten out the access. The bed in our room was mostly comfortable. While there was a teensy space for food prep along which contained a small refrigerator and an underpowered microwave, there was no silverware, plates, bowls, or glasses. There were cupboards for all these things, though! The room and property felt quite dated. That didn't bother us much, but if it's important to you, well, now you know.
No, I do not recommend this property.

Bed bugs, no timely response. No refund.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We discovered bed bugs during our stay and reported it immediately, yet the response was slow, disorganized, and completely inadequate. No one came promptly to inspect the room, and we were left to deal with the situation ourselves for far too long. Even more unacceptable, there has been no meaningful follow-up, no accountability, and no refund. Bed bugs are a serious health and safety issue, and the lack of urgency or care shown by this hotel is shocking. Instead of support, we were left stressed about contamination, ruined belongings, and the risk of bringing an infestation home. A hotel’s true character shows in how it handles a crisis — and this place failed completely. I would strongly caution anyone considering staying here.

Not worth the price...
Glorified motel 6 experience. They have some rooms that are okay. some are not. You don't know which room you are going to get until you are checking in. It all depends on your luck. We've been here 4-times and it is getting worse every time... We are not planning to come back...

Not very welcoming
Not very welcoming. First time booking and staying at this place. I felt very uncomfortable like I was not welcome to stay at this high end resort/hotel place. I get better treatment at low budget motels/hotels. I don't recommend the place at all. Your better off booking at local small businesses hotels & motels.

Hidden gem
Tahoe Ridge is truly a hidden gem perched right on the California–Nevada line. While it operates as a vacation club, it’s owned by IHG and rooms can often be rented just like a traditional hotel, which makes it surprisingly accessible. The property has plenty to keep guests entertained — daily activities, pools, saunas, bars, a small market, and an on-site restaurant — so you rarely feel the need to leave unless you’re heading out to ski or explore. I’ve stayed here three times, in both the Tower and Nagle buildings, and the views alone make every visit worthwhile. The location is absolutely five-star, especially for winter trips focused on skiing. Many of the units are more like condos than hotel rooms, with full kitchens, living areas, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, and thoughtful extras like jetted tubs, gas fireplaces, laundry rooms, and balconies. Ski lockers conveniently located in the halls are another nice touch. Decor varies depending on the building and unit — some feel more updated than others — but all have character and have consistently been well stocked with useful amenities like humidifiers, fans, and reliable coffee makers. Parking is easy and plentiful, with both underground and outdoor options across the property. My favorite feature, hands down, is the Skier Express — a mechanical bubble shuttle that connects the resort directly to the Stagecoach lift. When it’s running, it’s an amazing perk, though it seems to be operational only about half the time, which can be frustrating. There’s also a traditional shuttle that loops to the base lodges. It can take a bit longer due to the one-way main road, but it’s still a solid option for getting around. On my most recent visit, the management team really stood out. Communication before arrival was excellent, and I was celebrating a milestone birthday — they made the stay feel extra special with genuine kindness and attention. I’m honestly not sure where some of the lower reviews come from, but if they help keep this place under the radar, I guess that’s the silver lining. For me, Tahoe Ridge has become my go-to stay in the area and the only place I consistently choose when visiting.
Yes, I recommend this property.

Nice well maintained resort
This IHG Club Vacations resort is a nice place to stay. I stayed in a 1 bedroom villa in the Terrace building. Very nice, well kept, and well maintained. The entire building had a gas outage (and thus no hot water) for 1 day, but management quickly resolved the issue. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because the Skier Express Tram was out of service the entire duration of my stay. This tram was one of the reasons I booked this stay many months ago. On the bright side, the shuttle bus worked fine to get me to the ski lift.
