Experience at Tahoe Ridge Resort

Overall good experience. It was an unusually warm week in Tahoe and we didn't realize that the rooms are not air conditioned, which led to needing portable AC units that are actually evaporative units that use ice and a fan for cooling. If you are going to stay during the summer, suggest you consider the lack of air conditioning during the day. Overcrowded parking as another challenge. Other than that, the room was well furnished and the service was quite good.

Great resort

The hotel was clean and had enough activities to keep us busy in our downtime. The room was warm with no AC, but that's my preference. Staff was super friendly and responsive to any concerns.

Beautiful, relaxing view

The room was clean, there was a beautiful view, but when booking eventhough I recently spent an additional anount of money to became a platinum member I was told every time I called that there was no rooms available when using my points. I had to pay the amount of a non-members...what is the point of paying so much to become a Holiday inn club vacation and then pay more to be platinum. One of the perks I was told of platinum was having more bookings privileges. Another thing annoying is upon chrck in the front desk does not give you your parking pass and keyes they send you to another promotion desk where they try to book what they call an owners update....to spend 45min to an hour to sell you more "upgrade". In reality it's not an owners update...its a sales presentation. They need to understand that members go to relax and unwind from their daily routines and don't want to sit through a presentation where they feel pressured to buy every time they use their membership or visit the resorts.

Beautiful views... that's about it.

No air conditioning, have to hike to enjoy amenities, breakfast NOT included. Tried to offer $30 credit to buy snacks, coffee, or a hat instead of a real breakfast. Guest services would not answer the phone, not responsive. Weird "old" smell. Beautiful views, rooms are big, bathrooms are nice.

Very unpleasant experience

The staff was very nice and tried very hard to make our stay pleasant, but the hotel itself had so many problems. The first room (in the Plaza building) was unbearably hot. The heater could not be completely turned off (the fireplace radiated heat) and even with two ceiling fans and two box fans and the portable swamp cooler, the room was about 85 degrees even though it was a nice 55 degrees outside. In addition, the tub drain was so slow that when taking a shower, we stood in 5 inches of dirty water (room 2408). The staff moved us to a cooler room in the Ridge View building. This room was cooler but when we went to take a shower, there was no hot water and the phone didn’t work to call the front desk (room 1852). The staff had also told us there was a hot tub on the roof with a lake view, but when we went to use it, the water was cold. Our stay was pretty miserable. We appreciate the effort of the staff to accommodate us, but the accommodations were terrible. We would like a refund.

Great room to cook

Stay was great. My only complaint was the soda machine didn’t have cherry coke!

No AC in guest room

It was so hot we were not able to sleep. There were dead bugs on the carpet, it looked as if it wasn't vacuumed. The ice machine was not working.

Either tint the windows or install ac in the rooms. Sun rises right into all the rooms
